Frequently Asked Questions

Home > FAQ

Why are all your courses only one day or 2 hours long?

The short answer is because it makes training easier for everyone.

Because the short course format is easier to book, courses run more frequently. This provides more options for available course dates.

How much do your courses cost?

Most one day courses are $300 NZ+GST per day per person.
Most 2 hour courses are $150 NZ+GST per person.
Group and Corporate discounts are available

What are your class sizes?

Unless by prior agreement, our maximum class size is 8.

Which teaching model do you use?

Our teaching style is based on the "Experiential Learning" model, which essentially says that the way to learn something is by doing it, and by doing it you learn it. This approach is not new, as echoed in the words of Aristotle living around 350BC, "For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them". Our day courses are broken up into "micro-learning" snippets, where a short topic is taught and/or demonstrated for just a few minutes, followed by a hands-on lab where everyone gets to try it out for themselves.

What if the course I want is not listed?

Use the Contact link to send us a course request. We are always interested in customer feedback, and if we receive enough interest in a particular subject we will develop a new course.

Who writes your courseware?

We do. By writing and owning the courseware we can quickly and easily adapt courses based on feedback and new technology. All of our courses are carefully developed to provide practical no-nonsense content, and hands-on labs that can be directly applied on the job.

Are you allifiated with any of the software vendors of the products you teach?

No. We are completely independent. Our job is to teach technology, not to sell products.

What if a subject is too long to fit into one day?

We simply split the course up into several one-day courses.

For example, T-SQL is split into 3 one-day courses:
T-SQL Essentials
T-SQL Intermediate
T-SQL Advanced

This gives you the freedom to target which content you wish to study, on a day that suits you.

What do I need to bring to the course?

Just yourself. We provide laptops for everyone.

Can I cancel a Course Booking once I've made it?

A Course Booking may be cancelled up to two weeks prior to the course date and a full refund will be given. After two weeks prior to the course date, no refunds will be given because at that point we will have already arranged the trainer and the venue.

Who built your website?

We did. Our website uses technologies and techniques included in our courses MVC with ASP.NET, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, C# Fundamantals and T-SQL Fundamentals
